An Explanation

These are slideshows of some of my work. If you click on one you will see all the thumbnails come up and you can click on individual pictures or watch the show!

I am currently living on a remote island in the Caribbean and working on St Thomas as the co- director to a non profit alternative art alliance called, sevenminusseven. below is an art bio and a simple explanation of what I do

How I do It

The paintings appear over years or minutes, depends. Most of the work is combination of whatever is around from coffee, to asphaltum. The base is usually acrylic applied to canvas or paper. Each piece has gone through at least 3 stages.
Stage one is a perfectly normal painting. The next step is to paint it black, pour stuff on it or glue various things down or all three, usually all three. Then I sand it, paint it, scrape it with a fork or razor and start over till the painting appears.
This cycle is repeated many more times with variations depending on where I am and what’s in my wallet. I always see people and ducks who are really chickens. The chickens are still here, most the people are dead.
You will find stanzas of poems about the missing people and perhaps an errant chicken on the back of some of the paintings.
Painting saves me.
